Through analysis of guest-employee conversations at a leading Canadian casual dining restaurant chain, we identified both strengths and weaknesses in customer service interactions. These insights revealed specific training opportunities to address knowledge gaps, communication styles, and process-related issues, ultimately enhancing the guest experience.

Predicting Employee Retention

2023

In partnership with the AI Lab at Durham College, a dataset exceeding 50,000 records was analyzed to investigate the relationship between work performance and employee retention. Employee happiness and other personal statistics were also incorporated into the analysis. The results were used to develop a predictive model to forecast future employee turnover.

A holistic employee performance score is created by integrating individual performance data, store-level data, and macro-organization data. This approach provides a comprehensive view of employee contributions, accounting for individual effort, work environment, and broader economic factors. It allows for fairer comparisons across roles and industries, and reveals patterns that target interventions to improve performance.
